All good things end too fast.
After an amazing time in Carmarines Sur, Bicol it was time to head back to Manila, where we stayed another two nights before our flight back to the UAE with Oman Air.
The Avenue Plaza Hotel offers free Airport Shuttle Service, so we did not have to organise transport on our own.
If you do not have free transport, you won´t be lost. There are plenty of affordable taxis and the hotel will be happy to assist you.
What is the best time to be at the airport?
Usually we go to the airport very early in order to have some buffer time in case something happens.
You never know! The car could brake down, traffic jam etc.. Better safe than sorry. Missing a flight might get very expensive.
On international flights we use to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before scheduled take off. This time two hours was more than enough as Naga Pili Airport is quite small.
Before you head to the airport you might also want to check the status of your flight.
It might be cancelled, rescheduled or delayed.
You can do this on the website of the airline.

Naga Pili Airport Arrival and Departure Terminal
The security check and check in were done very fast.
So we had plenty of time until departure. There are some eateries outside the terminal building. After check in you can leave the airport as often as you want but you have to undergo the security check again of course.
There is no smoking area inside the terminal!
Before entering the waiting hall you have to pay a Terminal fee of 100 Php per passenger. So make sure you have enough cash.
Our aircraft arrived on time from Manila. Unfortunately the departure was delayed due to overcrowded airspace in Manila.
Our flight with Cebu Pacific was good. I can really recommend this airline.
Transport from Airport to Makati
After we got our backpacks in Manila, it was time to sort out transport to our Hotel.
We made our experience with airport taxis last year so we needed an alternative.
This alternative was UBER.
Absolute awesome service.
Without any hassle nor trouble we got to Makati where we stayed in the Best Western Plus Antel Hotel.
There the trouble began. I booked the Hotel one day ago over a booking portal, which has a partnership with my credit card and offered some discount.
The lady at the check inn could not find my booking.
As she looked deeper in the jungle of her booking system, she found it, although it was cancelled by the booking portal 1 hour after I did the booking without sending any notification to me.
Of course the price was already deducted from my credit card.
It was hot, we were tired and just wanted to take a shower. So you can imagine, our mood was not the best.
We did not have any other choice. We had to book again.
The walk in rate was about double the price I paid in the first online booking.
So I checked Agoda and found a quite affordable rate. Room booked, check inn done. Shower Times!!!
As I paid now twice for the room, I was not very happy. Contacting the hotline of the first booking portal was a hassle. It was an Australian hotline and I had to do it over the hotels´ landline phone. You can imagine, that was not a cheap call.
The reason for cancelling my booking were issues with the credit card. How come? I just booked with exactly that card again without any trouble. And thanks a lot for not notifying me about the cancellation.
At least I received the money back five days later with a deduction of approx. 10 US Dollars for fees.
The room was okay. 1 bedroom, 1 living room and a small kitchen.
Actually a bit too much for just a place to sleep.
Shopping Times!
With Uber we went to Glorietta Mall. Massive Shopping Centre. Don´t go there if you are in a hurry.
Time for nightlife
There was a market on the square opposite our hotel. We had food and drinks and enjoyed a fantastic live band.
